Coming off of a disappointing race at trials, the Vesper 4x hoped to make a statement about their competitveness at the Independence Day Regatta in Phildelphia, Pa. In the 1:30 trials, Sean stroked the 4x to a smooth 6:30, pacing the field by seven seconds. The crew returned in the 6:10 finals with strong competition from the other heats. The 4x demonstrated poise, extending their seven second advantage to a comfortable thirteen second advantage.

Representing BCMV in the sweep events was rising Junior John Corbett. John rowed a pair with high school teammate and current Holy Cross oarsman Anthony Curro. The 2- reached the semi finals, placing second in the heats with a time of 7:26.

The crew returned in the open event on Sunday to test the quality of their victory. The victory was incoincidental as they earned third place in a strong field, defeating the Vesper elite quad. Winner Malta Boat Club represented the US last year at the world championships for the event.

In addition to the 4x, Sean also represented Vesper in the B 2x. Vesper B won its heat over Undine by four seconds and earned bronze in the final. Vesper took home the team trophy for points.
